<description>I’d like to give you a big pat on the back for the volunteer work your company is doing for the local communities. It is inspiring and I think has caused a lot of us business owners to think about what we can do to be better members of the community.

Hey –

I certainly applaud your efforts and believe you are doing ‘the right thing’ as most small business owners would do. We too give back a great deal to the industry and our local community and in the long run the pay-off will come back to us – more than just financially.

I did learn however, while COO of my families catalog business years ago (Garnet Hill) which was/is a $100m plus business that it is often the case that you will get more heat than you anticipate (or deserve) when you “raise the flag”. I suppose it simply human nature for some folks to be cynical and focused on what you are NOT doing (most of which you have very little control over anyway) vs. the good…

So, I will tell you in a ‘private’ forum that I think your plan is a great one and I wish you all the best. I suppose your booth will be pretty busy at NSAA next week!

Best,

Brad

Wayne and I are absolutely blown away by the step of faith that you, Gail, and Gunther are taking with your company. So many times (we are guilty of this, so I&#039;m not pointing fingers), we believe IN God, but we don&#039;t REALLY BELIEVE HIM. I just did a bible study on that - living your life like you actually trust and believe His promises. This is what you guys are doing and it&#039;s inspiring. We will pray daily that God will bless your obedience and that each of your employees and the business, as a whole, prospers. It really is encouraging to us.

Gunther,

This is awesome and I can’t wait to see how you and your company will be rewarded for this kind of faith. Your are an excellent example and a true leader. I meet every Thursday morning for a bible study with a group of business owners I will be sure and offer you and your group up in prayer this week. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank You,

Thank you for setting such a tremendous example and reminding the business world that, at least for some companies, the welfare of employees is paramount. Not enough business leaders believe that &quot;the Lord gave us this business as a tool to serve our employees and the community.&quot; The world would be a much better place if more leaders felt as you do.

Cheers--
Rick, Ski Area Management Magazine.

I loved this so much so I sent it to our Deputy Director - do we have your permission to send it along to the Governor?????

WOW! You are so cool Gunther!
I am so glad you are in our community. I appreciate all the hard work that you do ?

I would like to invite you or a representative from your business to speak at the next Human Needs Council meeting. The Human Needs Council meets monthly at the Idaho Department of Labor to network &amp; discuss the programs/services available in our community. The group meets every third Thursday at noon in our conference room. I am sure there are plenty of volunteer opportunities you could learn about from attending that meeting. I have cc&#039;d the chairperson for Human Needs as she may have additional ideas for you. Patti Pratt - with Health &amp; Welfare.

Thanks for the great information Gunther!

Very praiseworthy. Similar discussions have been ongoing at our church where our pastor stresses it is always better to give than receive and of the course, we need to sow today if we want to reap tomorrow. Anyways, Grangeville is truly blessed that your family settled down in the area.

Hello Gunther - What wonderful news to receive on a Monday afternoon! I&#039;ve passed this along to Jennifer (Publisher) and she plans to include a note on this in the Supplier News section of the March issue.
